Equal treatment. Nothing more, nothing less.

Built the country. Pushed to the back of the queue.

White working-class men are the group official Britain forgot: last into university, first into unlawful 'diversity' shortcuts, three in four suicides. We campaign for equal treatment under the law — and redress for the men who didn't get it.

The record

Three numbers official Britain would rather not discuss

Every card links to its primary source — a tribunal judgment, an official inquiry, or national statistics. Screenshot them; the receipt travels with the image.

3 in 4

Three in four suicides registered in England and Wales in 2024 were men

The male rate — 17.6 per 100,000 — is the highest this century. Since 1981 the female rate has fallen 46%; the male rate just 8%.

If you're struggling: Samaritans, free, any time — 116 123.

16%

Only 16% of poorer white British pupils reach higher education by 19 — the lowest of any major ethnic group

That's pupils eligible for free school meals, 2018/19 cohort — lower than every other major ethnic group. The Committee blamed 'decades of neglect' and 'muddled thinking' at the Department for Education.

31 men

31 men were held back by the RAF's unlawful diversity fast-tracking — and later compensated

A Ministry of Defence inquiry found RAF recruitment targets led to unlawful positive discrimination: 161 women and ethnic-minority candidates were fast-tracked into training ahead of men in 2020–21. The head of recruitment resigned rather than implement the order.

How we work

Three disciplines. No exceptions.

Receipts, not rage

Every claim on this site links to a primary source: a tribunal judgment, an official inquiry, or national statistics. If we can't source it, we don't say it.

Equal treatment, not special treatment

The Equality Act 2010 protects everyone — including you. When an employer picks by race or sex instead of merit, that's unlawful whoever it hurts. We want the law applied evenly, nothing more.

Redress, not resentment

Men who were unlawfully passed over have won at tribunal and been compensated. Know your rights, keep your evidence, use the process. That's how this changes.

The cases

Proven at tribunal. Confirmed by inquiry. On the record.

Furlong. The RAF. Thames Valley. Plain-English case pages with judgments linked — including the contested reports we label as exactly that, and the case that lost.

Tribunal ruling2019

Furlong v Cheshire Police: the tie-break that wasn't

Matthew Furlong passed every stage of Cheshire Police's recruitment — then was rejected. The tribunal found the force had directly discriminated against him as a white heterosexual man, in the first 'positive action' case of its kind.

Direct discrimination proven on race, sex and sexual orientation.

The RAF diversity drive that broke the law

An official Ministry of Defence inquiry found RAF recruitment targets led to unlawful positive discrimination. 161 women and ethnic-minority candidates were fast-tracked ahead of men — and the officer who refused to do it resigned.

Unlawful positive discrimination confirmed; 31 men compensated; RAF chief apologised 'unreservedly'.

Why Backbone Britain exists

A campaign was missing: one that documents how white working-class men have actually been treated — with receipts — and turns it into redress. This is it.

No medals. No favours. Same rules.
